Eaton downs Talawanda – Darke county now


National Trail beats Preble Shawnee

EATON – Eaton’s college football team pushed their record to 2-1 with a 31-14 win over Talawanda on Friday. September 2. The Eagles are scheduled to start the Southwestern Buckeye League game this Friday by traveling to Bellbrook.

Eaton took control of the game early against the Braves, taking a 21-0 lead midway through the second period. The Eagles got touchdown points from Danny Caldwell and Berard Cordis in the first quarter. This was followed by a 5-yard touchdown pass from Brock Ebright to Leslie Orr in the second period.

Talawanda managed to put on a second quarter drive to get on the scoreboard. The Braves scored with just over two minutes before halftime.

Eaton, however, was able to use the final minutes to get within goal range. Drew Michael connected to make it 24-7 at halftime.

Both teams added a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Talawanda scored on a fumble recovery that was pushed back for a touchdown. Eaton scored on a 75-yard pass from Ebright to Brayden Deem.

National Trail vs. Preble Shawnee

National Trail has back-to-back convincing wins over opponents from the Western Ohio Athletic Conference. The Blazers are now 2-0 in the WOAC to start the season.

NT beat Tri-County 33-14 last week and backed that up with a 31-13 victory over Preble Shawnee on Friday September 2.

NT is now 2-1 on aggregate. They are scheduled to host Batavia in a non-WOAC game on Friday, then return to conference action the following week against Dixie.

Preble Shawnee is 2-1 overall, 1-1 at WOAC. They will stay in Preble County next Friday and travel to Twin Valley South.
