But a TikTok user has apparently discovered a way to make her manicure last for months if you can’t make it to the salon for a refill.

A TikTok hack showing how to remove and reapply acrylic nails at home has gone viral – but people are warning it can damage your hands1 credit

Posting to the @kay._.lianah account, the woman demonstrated how to soak false nails, before removing and reapplying them.

The video, which she captioned “Too lazy/don’t have the money to get fillers?”, has been viewed more than 10 million times.

First, she dips her fingers in warm water to loosen the glue before using tweezers and a dental floss stick to scrape off the fake nail.

She then files her natural nails before reapplying the false ones with nail glue.

To finish the look, she adds an extra layer of clear polish on top.

Although the video received many likes, nail technicians have already advised against using dental floss to remove acrylics.

Another TikTok clip demonstrating DIY acrylic removal using this technique has been criticized by a nail technician, who claims it can ruin your greenhouses.

One person said, “This will damage your natural nail so much, it’s no joke! Please don’t do this, just go soak them.

“PS, it makes your nails look shitty.”

“Never do that! commented a second.

Another said: “No, no and also no.”
